Who says chocolate should have all the fun?! We've put a twist on your typical brownie by adding vanilla and almonds. It's a great change from ordinary brownies, and they are just as decadent and moist! These Almond Butterscotch Brownies can't be beat -- no chocolate necessary!

What You'll Need

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) margarine, softened
  • 3 cups Splenda brown sugar blend
  • 1 cup liquid egg substitute or 4 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups almonds, chopped

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly spray a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, beat margarine and sugar together until creamy. Add eggs substitutes and vanilla; mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix until combined. Spread the mixture into the baking dish.
  3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool and cut into squares.

We cannot comment on other calorie websites. I can assure you that our nutrition program is accurate. Are you sure the number of servings on these other websites match ours? If their carb count is about double ours, their servings are perhaps twice as large.

I am finding the treats and dessert recipes very misleading. I put exact recipe from here into calorie counter and ALWAYS come up with much higher carbs! This recipe as is comes up 25 carbs...not 11. Please explain.
