Bow Ties with Turkey Sausage

It's okay to indulge once in a while, and when we feel like enjoying a serving of pasta, we toss together Bow Ties with Turkey Sausage. You can even change up your favorite dishes now and then, adding different veggies or herbs for a different flavor each time. It's what makes cooking fun!
What You'll Need
- 1 (12-ounce) package bow tie pasta (farfalle)*
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 pound Italian turkey sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices*
- 1 (14-1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil*
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme*
What to Do
- Cook the pasta according to the package directions; drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sausage, and sauté until the onion is tender and the sausage is browned.
- Add the tomatoes, basil, and thyme, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Return the pasta to the pot, add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil, and stir until the mixture is well combined and heated through. Serve immediately.
Notes
*To make this a gluten-free recipe, use a gluten-free pasta (other shapes will work fine), gluten-free sausage, and seasonings with no added starch from a gluten-containing source.
