If you make our Sicilian Turkey Meatballs a day or two in advance, when mealtime comes, you've got dinner in a snap! These are great on their own, over low-carb pasta or even stuffed into a whole-wheat wrap!

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 1 pound Italian turkey sausage, casings removed
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded wheat cereal, crushed
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 1 (28-ounce) jar low-sodium spaghetti sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

What to Do

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, sausage, cereal, egg whites, and wine. Mix well then form into 30 meatballs.
  2. In a soup pot combine the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat. Place meatballs in sauce and stir gently.
  3. Cover and let simmer on low for 30 minutes. Uncover and continue cooking 15-20 minutes or until meatballs are no longer pink in center.
