Slim 'n' Trim Sausage Patties

These turkey patties are packed with flavor all by themselves, though you'll probably want to serve them on whole-wheat buns with lettuce and tomato or maybe with lightly sauteed onions. Either way, since you're making them yourself (yes, you can do it!), they won't be full of fillers or fat.

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup egg substitute
  • 2 tablespoon dry bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper

What to Do

  1.  Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl; mix well.  Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.

  2. Coat a large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray.  Place the patties in the skillet and cook over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until no pink remains in the center.
