Lemon-Lovers' Scallops

This sea scallops recipe was made with all you lemon lovers' in mind! Our Lemon-Lovers' Scallops make a perfect appetizer when you have company, or as an easy, anytime dinner! The combo of breadcrumbs and lemon juice make these scallops irresistible! Especially if you love the flavor of lemons! It's a must-have recipe that will bring a light and fresh taste to your day. 

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound sea scallops, patted dry
  • Black pepper for sprinkling
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 cup Italian-flavored bread crumbs
  • Cooking spray
  • Paprika for sprinkling (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Coat a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. Sprinkle scallops with black pepper and onion powder.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together egg and water. Place bread crumbs in another shallow dish. Dip each scallop in the egg mixture, then in the bread crumbs, coating lightly.
  3. Place scallops on the baking sheet; lightly coat the tops with cooking spray and sprinkle with paprika, if desired.
  4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden and firm in center. Drizzle with lemon juice and serve immediately. 

Test Kitchen Tip

  • This recipe is great for any occasion, but if you really want to fancy 'em up, add a teaspoon of dried rosemary or thyme to the breadcrumbs!
