Our Test Kitchen puts flavor-packed Dijon-style mustard to great use in this simple Bistro Dijon Sauce. This one will make any of your recipes taste elegant, and of course, it's diabetes-friendly.

What You'll Need

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups fat-free milk
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard

What to Do

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and mix well.

  2. Add milk, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Boil 1 minute, or until mixture thickens and becomes smooth.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in mustard. Serve immediately.
