Country Fruit Compote

This Country Fruit Compote is a fun way to get your fruit! Who knew that pears and oranges would taste so great with apples?! Next time you're craving homemade applesauce, make this instead!
What You'll Need
- 4 medium Red Delicious apples, cored, peeled, and cut into chunks
- 4 medium Bartlett pears, cored, peeled and cut into chunks
- 2 oranges, peeled, seeded, and cut into chunks
- 3/4 cup unsweetened apple juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
What to Do
- In a large saucepan, bring all the ingredients to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
- Serve warm or allow to cool, then cover and chill until ready to serve.
Note
If you prefer your sauce a bit sweeter, add 1 tablespoon light brown sugar, or Splenda brown sugar blend to the saucepan with the other ingredients.
