There's nothin' fancy about our Simply Spinach recipe, but just like traditional mashed potatoes, sometimes simple is the best way to go.
What You'll Need
1 (10-ounce) package fresh spinach, cleaned and trimmed
teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons olive oil
teaspoon black pepper
What to Do
In a large pot, toss the spinach with the remaining ingredients.
Cook over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the spinach leaves are wilted, stirring often. Serve immediately.
Note: Most of the packaged spinach we buy today is pre-washed and ready to eat and cook, which sure saves us time. However, if your spinach isn't already prepped, you'll need to wash and trim it this way: Pull or cut off the stems, then immerse the leaves in cold water. Dry in a salad spinner or blot with paper towels, and you're ready to go!
