Sweet Onion Saute

With so many varieties of sweet onions available, you can personalize our Sweet Onion Sauté however you'd like!
What You'll Need
- 2 tablespoons peanut oil
- 2 large sweet onions, cut into 1/2-inch wedges
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 3 medium zucchini, cut in half lengthwise then into 1/4-inch slices
- 2 teaspoons light soy sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
What to Do
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Sauté the onions and sesame seeds over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add the zucchini and cook until the vegetables are just tender.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the remaining ingredients. Serve immediately.
Notes
Note: Did you know… that there are several varieties of sweet onions? There's the Maui, or Kula, onion, which only grows in the deep-red, volcanic Hawaiian earth; the Georgia Vidalia; the Texas Spring Sweet and Texas 1015 Super Sweet varieties; and, last but not least, the exceptionally sweet Walla Walla variety, grown in Washington State. All of them are exceptionally sweet and flavorful!
