Who says chocolate should have all the fun?! We've put a twist on your typical brownie by adding vanilla, almonds and brown sugar. These Almond Butterscotch Brownies can't be beat -- no chocolate necessary!

What You'll Need

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 3 cups Splenda brown sugar blend
  • 1 cup liquid egg substitute
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup almonds, chopped

What to Do

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly spray a 9- x 13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Cream margarine and sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, scraping bowl between each addition. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until smooth.
  3. Spread the mixture into the baking pan. Bake 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cut into 24 squares. Best served warm.

We cannot comment on other calorie websites. I can assure you that our nutrition program is accurate. Are you sure the number of servings on these other websites match ours? If their carb count is about double ours, their servings are perhaps twice as large.

I am finding the treats and dessert recipes very misleading. I put exact recipe from here into calorie counter and ALWAYS come up with much higher carbs! This recipe as is comes up 25 carbs...not 11. Please explain.
