Garlic is so healthy for us, and needless to say, it adds lots of flavor to our recipes. That's exactly why our Test Kitchen made this veggie dish with garlic, and we know you're going to agree that Garlicky Asparagus are delicious!

What You'll Need

  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 1/2 pound asparagus, washed, trimmed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil or 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce

What to Do

  1. In a large skillet, bring water to a boil. Add asparagus, cover, and cook over medium heat about 5 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Uncover and continue to boil 1 to 2 minutes, or until water is evaporated. Do not overcook. Remove asparagus to a serving platter and keep warm.

  2. Coat skillet with cooking spray. Add garlic and basil; cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in soy sauce and pour over cooked asparagus.
